Protect Her
February is Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month. Did you know that in DC, girls and young women between the ages of 16-24 experience the highest rate of intimate partner violence – almost triple the national average?
The DC Coalition Against Domestic Violence has put together a Teen DV Month calendar and toolkit that provides events, social media tips, and activities to raise awareness about abuse in teen and 20-something relationships and promote programs that prevent such abuse. And this week is #RespectWeekDC
Here’s what we’re doing today:
The DC Coalition Against Domestic Violence is spearheading a “Love is…” Instagram challenge. Share what love means to you by snapping a selfie to post on Instagram. Make sure to use #Loveis, follow @DCCADV on Instagram, and include #RespectWeekDC, #our100days.
